Special Talk by Professor Kim Pickering

28 December 2016 – Special Talk by Professor Kim Pickering held at Science and Engineering Research Centre (SERC) was a successful memorable event for all participants including researchers, lecturers and postgraduate students. ” Professor Kim Pickering is one of Composite Materials from University of Waikato, New Zealand and Editorial Board of Elsevier, Composites Part A: Applied Science and Manufacturing). Her vision in research and her outstanding contribution to the development of high performance composite has inspired a lot of people throughout the world.
It was a one day programme, started with informative and inspiring talk entitled “Developing High Performance Natural Fibre Composites”, followed by discussion with representatives from SERC and Polymer Programme of School of Materials & Mineral Resources Engineering. The event ended with lab tour. It was great to see collaborative effort possibly heading to Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between USM and University of Waikato in the future.
